PDRM Arrests 3 Men For Posing As Cops
They extorted money from foreigners.

Three men were arrested for allegedly impersonating Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers and extorting money from a foreign national parent and child at Taman Permai Jaya, Selangor
Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohd Azam Ismail stated that the complainant, aged 21, and his father, aged 50, were approached by three unknown men with one of them introducing himself as a police officer from Shah Alam, Selangor, on 27 September.
According to Harian Metro, Azam mentioned that the suspects conducted a search at their residence and subsequently accused the father of collecting metal scrap without a licence.
He also stated that the imposters demanded the father to pay a sum for not having a licence.
"Fearing repercussions, the father handed over RM500 to the suspects before they left," Harian Metro quoted him as saying.
Following that, Azam stated that suspects were arrested during the raids that were conducted in Tasek Permai, Taman Sri Intan Lembah Jaya Selatan, and Ampang Campuran, all in the Ampang areas
Upon conducting investigations, Azam said that the suspects, aged between 34 to 42, were previously convicted of drug and criminal offences.
"One of them works as an electrician, while the other two are unemployed. After further investigations, we found out that all three suspects have prior records of drug offences and criminal activity. Their mobile phones were also seized," he said.
The suspects are currently in remand and the case is being investigated under Section 384 and Section 170 of the Penal Code for personating a public servant.
