Pregnant M'sian Woman Falls Sick After Eating Spoiled Food Delivered From Restaurant
"Just say that you're a liar who wants to get free food," the restaurant said in reply to one negative review.
A Malaysian man recently shared his frustrations on social media after his pregnant wife fell ill after consuming spoiled food
In a post shared on X, the user who goes by @KalifPoi23, said his wife experienced diarrhoea after consuming nasi lemak with several side dishes. The couple had ordered the meal for delivery from a restaurant in Bandar Mahkota Cheras through Grab.
"I can tolerate it if the food my wife ordered is not delicious, but not to the extent of being spoiled and endangering her health," he wrote.
After the incident, the husband proceeded to file a report on the food delivery platform, but was left disappointed when his complaint was allegedly disregarded
According to the man, Grab rejected his refund request because it was unable to verify whether the food was spoiled based on pictures alone.
"My wife is seven months pregnant and suffered from severe diarrhoea and stomach pain after consuming spoiled food from this restaurant. The frustrating part is that we filed a complaint, but Grab Malaysia didn't bother to investigate at all," he claimed.
The husband also attached several reviews from other dissatisfied customers who ordered from the same restaurant
In the screenshots he posted, most customers had similar complaints, claiming that they were given spoiled food that had a sour taste.
"Hello, the beef rendang is spoiled. It smelled bad and had a sour taste. Next time, please check your food before you serve it to your customers. Now I have to throw my dinner away and order again. Please refund my money!" wrote one customer.
"The lungs tasted okay, but the nasi lemak was spoiled," wrote another.
In response to one of the reviews, the restaurant claimed that the customer was envious and had fabricated their review to obtain free food.
"This [review] must have been made out of jealousy. Grab is also stupid: the customer ordered pulut kuning but said that the nasi lemak was spoiled. Just say that you're a liar who wants to get free food," wrote the restaurant.
Frustrated by the reviews he read on Grab, the X user went on to check the reviews for the same restaurant on another food delivery app
The husband discovered that the restaurant had also received negative reviews from customers who had ordered food from them through foodpanda.
"The nasi lemak was delicious but the bihun had an unpleasant smell," wrote one customer.
"The food was served cold, and they look like leftovers from the previous day. I ordered Nescafé with less sugar, but it was too sweet. I wouldn't recommend [this restaurant] to anyone," wrote another.
