A Student Was So Badly Beaten Up By His Seniors, He Suffered A Brain Haemorrhage

A teenager is in serious condition after he was beaten up by a group of senior students in school

The 14-year-old suffered head injuries that have caused brain haemorrhage after three Form 3 students beat him up in Sungai Petani on Sunday, 28 August.

It was reported that the student, identified as Muhammad Anas Amir, had to undergo cranial surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain following a medical scan at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital.

Muhammad Anas is currently seeking treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar.

Here's what happened on that fateful day:

It was about 2.30pm when Muhammad Anas returned home from school on 28 August. His mother said that he had apparently gone straight to bed without having any lunch.

The Star Online reported that the teenager later told his mother what transpired in school and then complained of a throbbing pain in his head.

He also started vomiting which was when his father rushed him to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital at about 4pm.

Muhammad Anas' father lodged a police report over the incident on Sunday night.

Kuala Muda police chief Assistant Commissioner Md Zukir Md Isa said the incident occurred during the school's morning session at the victim’s classroom.

"One of the boys was unhappy with the victim for pulling his sibling’s hand, who is the victim’s classmate, into the classroom."

Zukir said four boys, aged 15, later went to see Muhammad Anas and beat him up before hitting the boy's head to the wall.

The police have detained four students for questioning over the incident

The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the Kedah Education Department said that the case has been referred to the police after the teenager's father lodged a report over the matter.
