Syabas Has Completed The Upgrading Works That Caused Water Cuts To 577 Klang Valley Areas

The water disruption affected areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Langat, and Kuala Selangor.

The upgrading works which caused water cuts in the Klang Valley were completed yesterday, 24 April, according to Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas)

The scheduled equipment replacement works at the Sungai Selangor Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant (SSP2) were officially completed at 11pm, Malay Mail reported.

The plant will be reactivated and the process of distributing treated water to the main reservoirs and the main distribution system will be carried out before water is distributed to customers

The process is expected to take 24 hours.

"The supply recovery will vary from one area to another depending on the geographical location and altitude of customers' premises," the statement read.

The water cuts affected four million consumers in 577 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Langat, and Kuala Selangor

The water disruption began at 9am on Wednesday, 24 April.

Syabas estimated that some places may take up to 86 hours for full restoration of water supply.
