A breastfeeding counsellor on TikTok has had enough of the many obscene comments left on her videos by dirty-minded netizens

Nad Masrom, fondly known online as Kak Nad, has over 57,000 followers on TikTok.

She is well-loved by new and young mothers for her educational videos on breastfeeding, where she regularly addresses their concerns and demonstrates effective nursing techniques.

However, she recently took to Twitter to condemn the many netizens, mostly men, who often leave lusty and lewd comments about women and breasts on her videos.

In a lengthy Twitter thread, the 35-year-old criticised the commenters who sexualise her informational content

"NORMALISING PORNOGRAPHY?" Nad questioned in disbelief.

She revealed that sexual comments have become a big issue on her TikTok account recently, and many said she has been "asking for it".

"Some say that I am to be blamed for making 'obscene content' that invites these comments. But why is it always a woman's fault when dirty-minded men cannot control their lust?" she asked.

In her videos, Nad professionally demonstrates breastfeeding techniques using medical training dummies, such as cloth breast models and mannequin babies

However, she shared that perverts leave vulgar comments on her videos that sexualise her work, including phrases such as "Can I rub it?" and "I need to see a tutorial with the real thing".

In one of Nad's more viral videos titled 'Tips To Solve Flat Nipples', some obscene remarks read: "You don't have to use a syringe, use your husband's mouth" and "I'm an expert with my finger, you don't need tips to solve this".

Besides the comments, the lactation therapist of five years said she is also tired of small-minded people who often report her videos for displaying 'obscene content'

She revealed that many have told her she was using the wrong platform to teach about breastfeeding — some told her to quit TikTok and to only post her videos in private women's groups to "maintain women's dignity".

"Too many times I've been reported for 'adult nudity and sexual activity'. But I'm not making obscene videos. This is education," she tweeted.

She pointed out that there was nothing wrong with teaching breastfeeding and the majority of her audience on TikTok are women anyway, with 70% of them aged between 18 and 27 who love her content.

The counsellor told SAYS that she will continue making TikTok videos to empower new and young mothers

"[I know] there are many new and young mums out there who find my knowledge useful," she said.

"I won't care about [the comments] too much, because I need to spread awareness on the importance of breastfeeding."
