TMJ: 396 Teachers In Johor Have Refused The COVID-19 Vaccine Due To Doubts
These teachers are from the total 779 who refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Last Sunday, 22 August, it was reported that a total of 779 teachers in Johor have refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Following which, Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim had said that he will meet with the teachers to find out their reasons.
In a statement yesterday, 27 August, the Johor Crown Prince said that he has since met with the teachers together with a number of state authorities and dignitaries at Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim in Bukit Timbalan.
According to Tunku Ismail, of the 779 teachers, there are 396 who rejected the vaccine "due to doubts". However, he did not share details about what sort of doubts these teachers have.
The other 383 postponed their jabs due to allergies, pregnancies, or health conditions, he added.
A number of them have now agreed to register to take the vaccine
"I heard the teachers' explanations on issues faced by them," the Johor Crown Prince said, adding, "There were some teachers who have now agreed to register to take the vaccine."
Tunku Ismail expressed hope that the teachers involved realise their responsibilities that include setting good examples for others
I hope they will take the vaccine before school reopens to ensure the health and well-being of the people.
Previously, Johor Education, Information, Heritage, and Culture chairman Mazlan Bujang had stated that the state government will call the teachers to make them understand the importance of the vaccine
He had also said that the Johor Education Department will assist in providing information to the teachers on the benefits of the vaccine so that they will be ready to receive their shots.
Mazlan, who was replying to a question from Maharani assemblyperson Nor Hayati Bachok on the vaccination rate of teachers in the state at the Johor state assembly on 22 August, also shared that as of 19 August a total of 45,448 of 48,008 teachers in the state have received their first dose of vaccine.
He said a total of 23,746 teachers statewide have also completed both doses of the vaccine.
"For members of the implementation group, a total of 6,539 or 91.43% have received their first dose and 2,816 have completed both doses. As for the operational support staff, 9,236 or 71.49% have received their first dose and another 7,030 have completed both doses," Malay Mail reported him as saying.
