It appears Tony Fernandes has had enough of K-pop
The Group CEO of AirAsia was speaking at a meet and greet session for his autobiography "Flying High" in Jakarta, Indonesia on 5 July where he quipped about not being a K-pop fan, according to a report in NST Online.
According to the 55-year-old Malaysian entrepreneur, while he is impressed with how South Korea markets their music, he finds the K-pop genre too uninformed.
Tony, who in 2017 married a South Korean actress named Chloe, claimed that he is "tired of K-pop"
As quoted by CNN Indonesia, Tony joked about killing himself if he hears someone mention the seven-member South Korean boy band BTS one more time.
My wife is from South Korea, but I am tired of K-pop. If someone mentions BTS one more time, I will kill myself, or Blackpink, redpink or whatever pink.
Prior to this though, Tony, who is the chairman of Malaysia Stadium Corporation (MSC), had last year hinted that Malaysia could see acts like BTS "and who knows even U2"
He, therefore, admitted that his position as the chairman of MSC would be seen as a failure if he could not bring BTS for a concert here.
