The suspect fled immediately after the shooting in a white car.
A 35-year-old man was shot three times by an unidentified gunman at Persiaran Tropicana, Petaling Jaya yesterday, October 15
According to New Straits Times, the man had just exited a convenience store after buying cigarettes when the incident occurred around 4.50pm.
"The victim was shot three times as he exited the store," said Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din.
The victim managed to survive the shooting and is reported to be in a stable condition
The victim was alone during the incident, but was brought to the hospital by a friend who came by later.
"The 35-year-old victim sustained injuries to his abdomen and the police believe the suspect fired three shots at the victim," Zani told Bernama.
He also told reporters that the victim's statement is being recorded.
Authorities believe more than one suspect is involved in the shooting
Zani told The Star that the gunman was described as "fair skinned, around five feet seven inches tall, and dressed in white and black".
The gunman had fled the scene in a white car right after the shooting, which leads police to believe that he had an accomplice waiting for him.
