A group of fishermen in Terengganu recently made headlines when they rescued a whale shark that had become entangled in a large fishing net in the middle of the night
In TikTok videos by @qasih2022, which have amassed more than a million views, some of the fishermen can be seen jumping into the ocean to free the whale shark, while others assist from the side of their boats.
Although the whale shark appeared to be able to swim, it struggled to break free from the net.
Tensions escalated as the enormous creature thrashed about, alongside smaller fish, in a desperate attempt to escape
More men jumped in to help, and after a few dramatic moments, the fishermen successfully pulled the net from beneath the whale shark, allowing it to swim away, along with some of their catch.
