Air Selangor: Water Supply To Fully Recover In Affected Areas By 12 October

Consumers residing in the affected areas are urged let their taps run until the water runs clear before using it.

Air Selangor has provided an update on the recovery status of the two different water supply disruptions that affected some regions in the Klang Valley

In a statement today, 11 October, Air Selangor shared progress on water supply recovery after having previously announced two separate disruptions.

The first was due to scheduled maintenance work at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant. Meanwhile, the second was an unscheduled temporary shutdown of the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 (SSP1), Sungai Selangor Phase 2 (SSP2), Sungai Selangor Phase 3 (SSP3), and Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) following an odour pollution incident in the Selangor River.

Full recovery is expected by 12pm Thursday, 12 October.

As for the temporary shutdown of the SSP1, SSP2, SSP3, and Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plants, 93.1% of affected areas have water supply restored as of 12pm today

Full recovery is expected by 12am, 12 October.

In its statement, Air Selangor advises consumers to run taps until the water is clear before using. Those with restored supply are encouraged to use water wisely, aiding the recovery process.
