"He told me that he knew it was my house, so he only came when I left for work, and left before I came home," said the radio announcer.

A woman was shocked to find an unknown man watching TV in her apartment when she came home from work recently

The woman, popular radio announcer Emely Poon of MyFM, took to her Instagram account on Thursday, 13 July, to share her ordeal and to also voice her concern for the safety of other women living alone in her condominium in Kajang, Selangor.

"This was the worst fear I've ever felt in my life, and it happened a few days ago when I had just returned from Chiang Mai, Thailand, so my schedule was different from usual," she began.

"I arrived at 9.30am at my apartment unit in Sutera Pines on 11 July. When I opened the door, I saw that my TV was on, playing a channel I was not familiar with, and a man in a red shirt and baggy shorts suddenly walked out of the kitchen," she recounted.

Terrified, she stayed at the front door and shouted at the security guards nearby for help, while taking her phone out to film the man

However, she said none of the security guards took her shouting seriously.

In the video posted on her Instagram page, the man could be seen standing bare footed at the doorway of her home, unperturbed as she shouted for help and questioned why he was in her home.

Poon said the man even told her that he had entered her home three times before.

"According to him, in the past two months, he has tried to sneak in over 10 times, but only successfully entered four times.

"He told me that he knew it was my house, so he only came when I left for work, and left before I came home," she wrote.

After some questioning, Poon also found out that the security guards knew that this problematic man is also a resident of the condominium

"I was upset. The security guards told me that neighbours have complained about this man before because he once stood fully naked on his balcony," she said.

However, the police apparently did not take any action against the man after he said he was "just looking for vitamin D" during questioning, Poon claimed.

"I am worried for the security of the condominium. How many other women are living here alone? Should they be worried too?" she wondered.

Poon said she has lodged a complaint with the condominium's management office to urge them to boost security and to take action for the safety of other residents

"The man was very familiar with the structure of the whole building. He has been taking the fire escape staircase to avoid all CCTVs to climb into my yard to come inside," she said.

"Now I'm so scared because I don't know when he may break into my house again. I don't know what's his purpose of coming into my house and I have no way of knowing what he has done in my house. I feel so defenceless," she added.

The radio announcer said she has also lodged a police report against the man.
