Young Man In Negeri Sembilan Fined RM2,000 For Visiting A Cemetery On Hari Raya Aidiladha

According to the Aidiladha SOPs released by the National Security Council (MKN), house visits, grave visits, open houses, and festive feasts are not allowed nationwide.

A young man in Negeri Sembilan was recently fined for visiting a graveyard during Hari Raya Aidiladha

Jempol district police chief Supt Hoo Chang Hook told Harian Metro that the 21-year-old man was compounded yesterday, 20 July.

The incident took place around 11.40am at the Felda Palong 12 and 13 Muslim cemetery.

The man was fined RM2,000 for visiting a grave with his niece and nephew

He was stopped by a special team of officers in charge of monitoring standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance according to the National Recovery Plan.

Hoo said that the compound was issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and he urged other members of the public to abide by SOPs.

However, mosques in all states under Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan were allowed to hold prayers and animal sacrifices, with adherence to COVID-19 SOPs on physical distancing.
