Yesterday, 25 March, Oman football head coach Jaroslav Šilhavý claimed that his team's training session at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium was cancelled due to poor pitch conditions

The New Straits Times reported Šilhavý expressing his dissatisfaction during a pre-match conference on Monday.

"Unfortunately, we were told about the weather conditions in Malaysia, that it has been raining a lot, and that the field will not be good or ready for the match. However, we are physically, tactically, and psychologically prepared for whatever conditions," the English newspaper quoted him as saying.

He also claimed that "it won't be a good field".

However, Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has since clarified that it was the match commissioner appointed by FIFA who decided not to allow Malaysia and Oman to train at the national stadium

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Yeoh said the match commissioner made this decision after taking into consideration the current weather conditions in Malaysia, which often sees rain in the evening and at night.

"The National Stadium in Bukit Jalil (SNBJ) has received the match commissioner's approval for the game. Harimau Malaya supporters are encouraged to converge on the SNBJ to give their full support," she wrote.
