Chinese Guy 'Spoils Market' By Gifting 39 Ex-Classmates An iPhone 6s Each
Now they all can stay in touch!
On 20 December, an alumnus of Sanshan Primary school in the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang province earned praise for his generosity after surprising his former classmates. He gifted an engraved iPhone 6s to each of his 39 former classmates at a class reunion.
According to a local newspaper, they were enjoying a dinner gathering in Ningbo, near Shanghai, when suddenly boxes of rose gold iPhone 6s were placed in the middle of the dining tables
Each rose gold-coloured phone, which costs at least RMB5,288 (RM3,517), was customised with the words "To commemorate the Beilun Sanshan Primary School Class of 1998" engraved on the back.
According to Chinese media reports, the classmates were in the midst of the dinner hosted by Mr Zhang when iPhone boxes were placed at the dining tables.
"Take one for yourself as a souvenir," Zhang, who is in his early 30s, had told them.
One of the dinner's attendee posted photos on Weibo
“He is not showing off his wealth by being so generous,” wrote one classmate. “He is a good man who cherishes the bond between us.”

In 2014, Chinese tycoon Qian Fenglei handed out 14 then-unreleased-in-China iPhone 6 handsets to former high school classmates. Perhaps most wacky of all, however, was the story of 27-year-old son of China’s richest man — worth around $34 billion — who bought not one, but two gold Apple Watch Editions for his pet dog.
