The app has dominated the #1 position in the News & Magazines category on Google Play Malaysia since 2022 and has now surpassed long-established competitors to become the most-used news app in the country.

The news app's success comes amidst fierce competition in the digital news space, with Lumi News overtaking several well-established local and international news apps in terms of new downloads and active users as seen on data.ai. In the last 90 days alone, the news app saw a 10% growth in its active user base, an increase that propelled it to claim the #1 ranking.
