Just a year after its launch, homegrown news aggregator app Lumi News has taken home a Bronze award for Best Digital Tech Product at the 2023 d Awards

Held annually by the Malaysian Digital Association, the d Awards recognise and honour talents, agencies, brands, publishers, and digital service providers that embrace and use digital technologies.

Since its launch, Lumi News has been steadily growing in popularity, with a current user base of over 100,000 users in Malaysia. The app's unique features, such as News Stacks, AI summaries, and Chats, have been praised for their ability to embrace the diversity of digital content.

"We are honoured to receive this award from the MDA. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and we are committed to continuously provide our users with the best possible news reading experience," said Judith Yeoh, CEO of Lumi News.

What makes Lumi News stand out is their user-friendly interface and unique features, making news-reading delightful for Malaysians of all ages

The locally developed app is currently the #1 news aggregation app on Google Play Malaysia, under the News & Magazines category. It is also the first in Malaysia to introduce AI-generated news summaries, offering users bite-sized stories to save time while staying informed.

Lumi News currently hosts over 80 renowned local and international news sources on its platform, covering English, Malay, and Mandarin sites. This includes the New Straits Times, FMT News, SAYS, Berita Harian, Utusan, Oriental Daily, ATV News, and so much more.

The app's users are also able to sort content via 25 topics of interest, such as Politics, Lifestyle, Food, Tech, Entertainment, Crypto, Sports, and more.

"Our winning formula is understanding our audience, delivering breaking news, and being mindful of what's resonating. Our team is very responsive and quick to adapt to trends and needs, resulting in frequent app improvements and thoughtful features for our users," Yeoh shared.
