ICYMI, the MAE app now has a feature that enables you to make cashless payments seamlessly during your travels in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia

Carrying a load of cash can be risky, especially when you're moving about in a foreign place. Now that you have a digital alternative at your fingertips, making payments through your smartphone is not just safer, but also more convenient.

For travellers in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia, the Cross-Border DuitNow QR feature on the MAE app is a game-changer. This feature allows you to make hassle-free cashless payments by scanning local QR codes such as those by NETS (Singapore), PromptPay (Thailand) and QRIS (Indonesia). Be on the lookout for these logos at the payment counter to Scan & Pay with the MAE app:

In terms of accessibility, the Cross-Border DuitNow QR feature offers auto and instant conversions, and, best of all, no hidden charges when making payments via Scan & Pay with the MAE app.

Here's how to use the Cross-Border DuitNow QR feature on the MAE app:

STEP 1: Launch your MAE app and tap on 'Scan' at the bottom.
STEP 2: Scan the merchant's QR code.
STEP 3: Key in the payable amount in foreign currency.
STEP 4: You'll notice the conversion rate and ringgit amount deductible displayed. Then, confirm the payment. Be sure to double-check your amount before hitting the 'Pay' button.
STEP 5: Authorise your payment if the amount is more than RM250.
STEP 6: Payment is successful. You can inform the merchant that the payment has been made!

When you use this MAE app feature, you could stand a chance to win RM10,000 worth of prizes, including a five-day four-night all-expense-paid trip for two. Woah!

To encourage more people to use the Cross-Border DuitNow QR feature, Maybank will be awarding 10 lucky winners with the vacation of their dreams to either Bali or Bangkok, worth RM8,500. All you have to do is Scan & Pay with the MAE app, with a minimum spend of RM150 in Singapore, Thailand, or Indonesia.

What's even better is that each winner will receive RM1,500 spending money credited into their MAE e-wallet. Talk about a dream come true! :D
