The event brought together Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), government agencies, financial institutions, and technology partners under one roof, creating a space for businesses to access financing opportunities, insights, and support for growth.

Running a business today comes with constant pressure, from securing funding and managing cash flow to adapting to digital transformation and AI. Events like this aim to connect SMEs with practical solutions and the people who can help them scale.

The event was officiated by Finance Minister II Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan

According to him, micro, small, and medium enterprises account for 97% of all business establishments in the country, provide 70% of national employment, and contribute around RM652 billion to Malaysia's GDP.

He also spoke about several ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the SME ecosystem, including financing support, digitalisation grants, e-invoicing implementation, and consumer credit protection measures.

One of the key highlights at the event was the newly introduced Funding Pavilion

The dedicated space allowed SME owners to speak directly with banks, financing providers, government-linked guarantee schemes, and business advisors.

Among the participating organisations were BSN, Maybank Islamic, RHB, Standard Chartered, SME Bank, OCBC, Funding Societies, CapBay, microLEAP, MoneySave, and SJPP.

Instead of navigating multiple channels separately, business owners were able to explore financing options and ask questions directly during the event.

The conference programme also featured talks and panel discussions covering topics that matter to modern businesses

Attendees heard from government agencies, technology providers, and entrepreneurs on subjects such as digital transformation, AI adoption, compliance, credit health, and entrepreneurship. Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin was among the keynote speakers who opened the conference programme.

CTOS also used the event to introduce CMX, its next-generation credit intelligence platform designed for businesses

The platform aims to help companies monitor customer risk, make better credit decisions, and manage cash flow more effectively.

According to CTOS Group CEO Ankur Sehgal, tools like these have traditionally been available mainly to banks and large financial institutions.

"For years, credit intelligence of this kind has largely been the domain of banks and large financial  institutions. CMX changes that. It puts powerful, real-time credit risk tools directly in the hands of  business owners, helping them extend credit with confidence, protect their cash flow, and make  smarter decisions about who they do business with," he shared.

With CMX, businesses can gain access to real-time credit insights and monitoring capabilities that help them assess risk and make more informed decisions. The platform is expected to be rolled out progressively throughout the year, with a full launch targeted by the end of 2026.

The Petaling Jaya event marks the first stop of the CTOS SME Biz Day 2026 national series

The next editions will take place in Penang on 28 July and Johor Bahru on 8 September, continuing CTOS' efforts to connect Malaysian SMEs with financing opportunities, business knowledge, and technology solutions.
