Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says his artificial intelligence-powered digital twin is undergoing upgrades

The PMX AI chatbot was taken offline shortly after its WhatsApp launch on 19 July.

As at the time of writing, WhatsApp users who attempt to message the chatbot would receive the following response: "Thanks for reaching out. We're putting the finishing touches on our upgrade, and PMX AI will be back shortly. Please look out for the official media announcement."

Speaking to the press, Anwar confirmed that the chatbot is undergoing upgrades.

"We are working on it," he said, according to the New Straits Times.

Developed by tech firm Zetrix AI under the Avatar.inc platform, the chatbot was created to help the public access information on government policies and submit feedback

It is trained on official statements, policy materials, and speeches linked to Anwar's administration.

However, the service was taken offline less than one day after its release.

This follows social media posts displaying purported screenshots of unusual responses, raising questions about the chatbot's accuracy.

Although initial notices claimed the system upgrade would take less than a day, the chatbot remains unavailable while developers refine its safeguards.
