Here's How To Redeem Your Free 1GB Of Mobile Internet Every Day During The MCO

Some telcos will automatically give you 1GB of free Internet every day, while others will need you to apply for it.

Last week, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced a RM250 billion economic stimulus package, which includes a RM600 million allocation to give out free Internet to citizens

Following the announcement, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) stated that Celcom, Digi, Maxis, and U Mobile customers will receive free 1GB of high-speed Internet per day throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO).

The MCMC said these four telecommunication companies (telcos) will offer free mobile Internet every day from 8am to 6pm, beginning today, 1 April, until 14 April.

To help you redeem your 1GB mobile Internet for the next 14 days, we have gathered the steps you need to take.

So scroll to your network provider to find out how:

1. Celcom

Under the Celcom Axiata brand, there are Celcom, Tune Talk, Xpax, and Yoodo.

For Celcom and Xpax users, CEO Idham Nawawi tweeted that all customers will automatically receive the 1GB mobile data every day without having to opt-in.

As for Tune Talk users, simply send 'STAYHOME' via SMS to 2222. You will receive free 1GB of mobile Internet every day throughout this period.

Yoodo users will automatically receive the 1GB data every day throughout this period without having to opt-in as well.

What is special about Yoodo's offer is that the free data can be accumulated and will not expire at the end of the day, as stated on its website.

2. Digi

Digi users - both postpaid and prepaid - will have to personally opt-in before you can enjoy the 1GB free Internet.

According to the company's website, postpaid users will have to click this link on your smartphone, which will take you to its mobile app to activate the free Internet.

As for prepaid users, you can either click this link, which will connect you to its mobile app, or you can dial UMB code '128 88#' on your phone.

The free 1GB Internet will be given every day throughout this period, available to use from 8am to 6pm.

3. Maxis

According to the company's website, Maxis and Hotlink users will have to activate the free Internet on respective apps every day throughout this period to enjoy the 1GB data.

Maxis Consumer Postpaid and Maxis Business Postpaid users can activate the free Internet every day on its Maxis app or Maxis Business app.

As for Hotlink Postpaid and Hotlink Prepaid users, you will have to access Hotlink Postpaid app or Hotlink app every day to redeem the 1GB free Internet.

You can also redeem it by dialing '*100#' on your mobile for Maxis Consumer Postpaid, Maxis Business Postpaid, and Hotlink Postpaid users.

The UMB code for Hotlink Prepaid users to activate your free Internet is '*868#'.

4. U Mobile

U Mobile users will automatically receive 1GB worth of free Internet every day throughout this period.
