During this open kitchen factory tour at Mayo Terrace, visitors not only get to see how the beloved mayonnaise is produced and packed, but also learn about the history of the first company in Japan to manufacture and sell mayonnaise.
The interactive tour includes potato salad tasting, recipe tips, an inside look at operations in the mayonnaise factory, and a brief explanation of Kewpie products around the world, highlighting how different countries have different regulations.

TikTok user @em_me_ shared her experience, mentioning that Kewpie demonstrates how eggs are quickly cracked using special machines and that she got to taste-test Kewpie mayo in a potato salad.
Watch her video below:
The tour lasts about an hour to an hour and a half, and to top it off, you even get a free gift at the end!
She received a bottle of Kewpie mayo, salad dressing, and a cute Kewpie doll, but they also offer other items, such as pencils, from which you can choose.

The official tour is conducted in Japanese. If you're lucky, there is a small group tour available in English, but it's not guaranteed. Em shared that she was lucky her tour was in English, but she was prepared to use Google Translate.
According to Where In Tokyo, there is also enough visual content in the multimedia presentations to keep things interesting even if you don't understand Japanese.
