There's A Cat Island In Pahang With Over 60 Rescued Kitties You Can Play With
You can visit the shelter for free and play with or adopt the cats!
Did you know there's a cat island in Pekan, Pahang, that's a paradise for cat lovers?
Meow Island, also known as Pulau Kucing, was established in 2013 by the late Tengku Lokman Nadzira Tengku Husin, or Ayah Engku, whose primary goal was to create a safe space for unwanted strays.
It's not an entire island, but rather a four-hectare area within Kampung Pulau Keladi dedicated to caring for stray or abandoned kitties.

Visitors are welcome to explore the sanctuary and play with the cats, and every feline here is available for adoption
As a non-profit organisation, Meow Island relies entirely on donations to care for the felines.
According to this previous article, Tengku Lokman shared that it costs at least RM7,000 a month to feed and treat the cats.
You can choose to donate money to support the cats' daily needs, including food, medicine, and more.
