An auxiliary police officer has won a BMW 320i from a lucky draw at the opening ceremony of Glam Bazar Ramadan Klebang 2024 in Melaka last night, 7 April

According to Harian Metro, the winner is Mohamad Helmi Mohammad, a 32-year-old Kelantanese who works as an auxiliary police officer in Petronas.

Helmi said he did not expect to win the luxury vehicle, adding that it was the most expensive prize he had ever won because he had never participated in any lucky draws before.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh presented the replica key to him.

"I am grateful to win this car. My wife filled out the [lucky draw entry] after spending around RM700 at the bazaar, but I did not expect to be announced as the grand prize winner," he said.

The mega Ramadan bazaar was organised in conjunction with the Tahun Melawat Melaka 2024 (TMM2024) campaign, reported Berita Harian.

During the event, Ab Rauf said Melaka received 3.3 million tourists last month.

The TMM2024 campaign offers a variety of lucky draw prizes for travellers, including 10 cars, 28 motorcycles, and a boat.

To be eligible, participants must purchase official TMM2024 souvenirs or stay at hotels in Melaka to support the initiative.
