A Singaporean bank employee was recently jailed for recording nearly 400 upskirt videos

Following a report by The Straits Times, 43-year-old Leonard Tan Song Hui was found guilty of using his mobile phone to record upskirt videos of victims in public places such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations, onboard trains, and around his workplace in the Marina Bay area.

Deputy public prosecutor Joshua Phang said that Tan started illegally recording inappropriate videos of people between February 2018 and September 2019.

Tan specifically targeted two of his female work colleagues during this period, recording a total of 273 upskirt videos of the 39-year-old and 38-year-old in 2018.

And in 2019, the former bank teller also went as far as to harass a 33-year-old victim, taking two inappropriate videos of them, while standing behind the victim on the escalator.

A witness of the incident, Leong Wei Jian, immediately reported Tan to the police, trailing him while calling local authorities

According to Mothership, detained the 43-year-old before taking him in for investigation after the report was lodged.

Police seized two mobile phones, a laptop, and a hard disk from Tan's person and discovered the incriminating videos.

Tan pleaded guilty to two counts of insulting a woman's modesty and one count of harassment.

The prosecution sought a jail sentence of 10 to 12 months for Tan, but it was reduced to eight months by the court.
