Police To Reassess Charges After Elderly Woman Injured In Snatch Theft Incident Dies
She sustained severe injuries following the incident on 7 October.
A 78-year-old woman died yesterday, 30 December, after sustaining severe injuries in a snatch theft in Bangsar two months ago
The woman, Lim Foong Mei, had been recovering in a local care home after the incident, but her condition worsened before passing away on Monday, according to FMT.
She was severely injured in a fall after a motorcyclist snatched her handbag as she was walking to a shop on Jalan Limau Manis on 7 October.
She suffered significant head bleeding and was taken to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, where she was placed under medical observation.

Brickfields police chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood stated that police will revisit the case to reassess charges following Lim's death
The unnamed suspect was initially charged under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, and a fine, or whipping.
The suspect's trial is scheduled for 10 January 2025.
