Terengganu Govt To Probe 'Wild Party' Celebrating Chinese Valentine's Day '520'
Viral videos show women in bikinis dancing on stage while a crowd cheers and moves to the music.
The Terengganu government will investigate a party held on 20 May, the unofficial Valentine's Day in China, which featured women in beachwear dancing on stage at a well-known resort in Basut
The state's tourism, culture, environment, and climate change committee chairman, Razali Idris, said his department would investigate whether the organisers had violated local guidelines and whether the necessary permits were obtained, reported FMT.
"We will investigate this matter first, and if it is found that the organisers violated the rules or any law, then we will take action," he was quoted as saying.
Razali said he would meet with the resort owner, accompanied by the Terengganu religious department and the Kuala Terengganu mayor.
"If there is proof that the event violated the law or that there were Muslims involved, please channel such information to the religious department for further investigation," he added.

Meanwhile, the state police have not received any reports concerning the party
"It will depend on the meeting scheduled tomorrow (23 May) between the exco (Razali) and the resort owners," Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor told Bernama when contacted yesterday, 22 May.
He added that the resort area is a private zone exclusively for tourism, with no local villagers.

Earlier this week, photos and videos of the party, named Aloha Party, went viral
Some netizens questioned the approval of the music party, which was headlined by two local DJs and a dance group.
Footage shows women in bikinis dancing on stage while a crowd cheers and moves to the music.
"Enjoy your 2024 first 520 with us," read a poster for the party.
The '520' reference is related to China's unofficial Valentine's Day, as the numbers sound like 'I love you' in Mandarin.
The resort that hosted the party had been promoting it for the past week, and its Instagram profile frequently showcases local influencers enjoying the resort's amenities and beach.
