They're adding WhatsApp to their Accounts Center, which is like a central hub for managing your Meta accounts. This means you'll be able to do things like share your WhatsApp Status updates to your Facebook or Instagram Stories or even log in to WhatsApp faster with a single sign-in.
Don't worry, connecting your WhatsApp to the Accounts Center is completely optional. You can turn it on or off whenever you want.
Here's how you can link all your accounts:
A WhatsApp spokesperson clarified how linking your account works: If a WhatsApp user tries to log back into their account, or reshares their Status to Facebook Stories for example, they will see a prompt letting them know that they can get more features like if they choose to link their WhatsApp to Accounts Center.
Users can also find accounts center in their WhatsApp settings under Settings, then tap Accounts Center.
In the future, Meta plans to add even more ways to connect your social media accounts, like managing your avatars and stickers across all of their platforms

This could make it much easier to maintain a consistent identity and experience across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and even Meta Quest.
Meta has assured users that privacy and security remain its top priorities, even with the new Accounts Center integration
Your WhatsApp messages and calls will still be protected by end-to-end encryption, meaning no one, not even Meta, can access your content.
More importantly, your WhatsApp contacts won't be shared with other Meta platforms, and your data won't be used for advertising. Meta will only access information for essential purposes like counting users, ensuring safety, and enabling the optional cross-platform features. This includes basic details like your phone number, profile picture, age, and WhatsApp Status updates if you choose to share them to Facebook or Instagram Stories.
You'll be able to manage these linked accounts and settings directly within WhatsApp or through the Accounts Center, accessible from the settings of any connected Meta app.
