Banting School Stabbing: Father Denies Victim Was A Bully After Alleged ‘Hit List’ Emerges

The father of the Form 3 student stabbed by her classmate at SMK Bandar Banting has confirmed that his daughter's name appeared on a list believed to have been written by the 15-year-old suspect

However, he strongly denied claims circulating online that her daughter had bullied the teen suspect.

Speaking to reporters at Banting Hospital, Mohd Firuz Ibrahim, 43, said his daughter's name appeared at the bottom of the list that surfaced following the stabbing yesterday, 6 July.

SAYS has seen the purported notes circulating online but has chosen not to publish their contents as authorities have yet to verify them.

"It looks like my daughter's name is there at No. 10," he was quoted as saying.

Mohd Firuz said he has handed the matter over to the police and does not want to speculate on what the list means or what may have motivated the attack.

"We don't know what her motive was. If she's really unwell, would she really be able to plan something like this? Let the police do their job," he said.

The father also pushed back against allegations on social media that his daughter had bullied the suspect

"I want to stress that my daughter is not a bully," he said.

"She just goes about her own business. She barely ever leaves the house. If she goes anywhere, it's her mother who takes her or me. She's never gone out on her own with schoolmates."

Mohd Firuz said his family does not know the suspect's family, adding that his daughter had never mentioned the suspect at home.

"We don't know them at all. And my daughter never once talked about this friend, the suspect," he said.

However, following the attack, he had said the two girls did know each other, as they had been classmates the previous year.

"They know each other. They were classmates last year."

Although he rejected the bullying allegations, the father said he welcomed a thorough police investigation into whether bullying played any role in the incident.

Asked whether he would be willing to meet the suspect's family if they wished to apologise, he said he was open to the possibility.

Mohd Firuz also said doctors have told the family that his daughter's condition is improving

Although she still has a chest tube in place after suffering a punctured lung, she is expected to need about a week to recover from her injuries.

She suffered multiple stab wounds before being rushed to Hospital Banting, where she remains in stable condition.

Police have classified the case as attempted murder.

The 15-year-old suspect has been remanded to assist with investigations, while authorities have yet to announce a motive for the attack.
