Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) will soon be launching its new boutique cinema called Velvet, inviting moviegoers to experience the vibrant vibes of retro cinema.

The '60s-inspired cinema seamlessly blends retro colours and modern decor, featuring plush lounge chairs in leafy green, teal blue, and burnt orange.

The new cinema will boast an open-concept dining space and bar, offering a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic movie-inspired beverages, reported The Vulcan Post.

Besides caramel popcorn and fizzy sodas, moviegoers will also be able to savour heartier meals, enjoying a dining experience that feels just like being in a restaurant.

The cinema will feature three halls, with a total of 163 seats

The wide and spacious plush velvet seats are perfect for two people, making it an ideal spot for a cosy couple date night, be it with your partner or friends.

The seats also provide moviegoers with ample legroom so that they can settle in comfortably for an enjoyable cinematic experience.

Velvet will roll out a special promotion for customers to enjoy upon its grand opening

According to Bernama, tickets are sold in pairs and prices vary between weekdays and weekends:

— RM140 per pair (RM70 per pax) on Monday to Thursday

— RM180 per pair (RM90 per pax) on Friday to Sunday

Once the promotion ends, ticket prices are the same on both weekdays and weekends, at RM200 per pair (RM100 per pax).

Velvet is set to open in December 2023.
