The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Monday, 26 June, that the Oscar-winning Malaysian actress is among the 31 honourees in the Class of 2024.

The entertainers were chosen from among hundreds of nominations at a meeting held on 16 June.

Among other notable names are the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, actors Chris Pine and Ken Jeong, as well as singer Gwen Stefani, to name a few.

Yeoh made history earlier in March when she took home an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role, making her the first Malaysian and the first Asian to win in the category

The Ipoh-born actress took home the prize for one of the most talked-about films last year, Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022).
