Now that cinemas have re-opened, we can finally watch the ninth instalment of the Fast franchise, Fast & Furious 9

The wildly successful franchise hit a huge milestone this year — hitting 20 years since its first movie in 2001.

This ninth film features most of the main cast including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriquez, and Jordana Brewster. Justin Lin serves as director for this movie — his fifth of the nine movies.

The movie also sees wrestler-cum-actor John Cena marking his debut in the franchise as Dominic and Mia Toretto's long lost brother, Jakob Toretto, who is set to cause some friction with his reappearance.

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to speak with Vin Diesel, Sung Kang, and John Cena about their experience and this next instalment.

Watch the full video of our interview with them below:

We found out that John Cena is a huge car fan as well as a fan of the Fast franchise. So when we asked him what his first day on set was like, the question had him grinning.

Diandra: "What was it like for you both as a fan and a car enthusiast the first day you went on set?"

John Cena: "It really is a blessing! And a lottery ticket."

Cena recalled having to do a scene in London, and all he could manage when he got there was go crazy over the cars

John Cena: "I just went from car to car to car. It was awesome! So I'm very, very happy!".

And on that topic of cars, Sung Kang — whose character, Han, returns after being 'killed off' in Tokyo Drift — revealed to us which car in the entire franchise he would take home if he could

Diandra: "If you could take home one thing when all of this is over from the set, what would it be?".

Sung Kang: "You know, I would love to go back to Tokyo Drift and take the Mazda RX7".

Nice!

Vin Diesel ended the interview with a special message to the Fast fans in Malaysia in the most Vin Diesel-way ever and we love him for it

Vin Diesel: "Thank you, my incredible fans in Malaysia. We made these movies with our hearts, and we make these movies for you. Because you...are family!" heart-shaped hands

From mind-blowing, out-of-this-world action to the new cast additions, the show keeps surprising its audience, bringing them to the next level each and every time.

How crazy will Fast & Furious 9 be? Only one way to find out. Catch it in cinemas nationwide this 21 October.
