Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei has done it again.

Every year, the badminton legend never fails to write the cutest wishes to his wife, Datin Wong Mew Choo, for their wedding anniversary.

On Thursday, 11 November, Lee took to Instagram to share photos of him and his wife along with his special message for their ninth anniversary.

The 39-year-old doting husband started the caption with, "I never knew I know how to dream. Until I met you."

He then shared how nervous he was proposing to Wong that many years ago in Gold Coast, Australia.

"It was the most nervous moment of my  life. More gan jiong (nervous) than Olympic final. More gan jiong than collecting SPM result," he wrote with humour.

He said he was worried when she kept quiet for a moment after he popped the question and had many thoughts running through his head

"Was I not good enough for you? Was I not handsome enough for you? I look at (sic) mirror everyday, not Andy Lau but my face [is not that bad]," he wrote.

Thankfully, he said she teared up and said yes, and they both hugged and cried.

Lee wrote that he is also still unable to believe they are married

"Till today, I still pinch myself... With two beautiful sons. With a future I can't wait to grow old with you. Hand in hand," he said.

He also said that he aimed to keep the promise he made to her parents to always protect her.

"I'd steal the sun from the sky for you, if you want me to. Happy nine years anniversary, lao po."

Lastly, he added that he is eager to plan a romantic 10-year anniversary holiday with her next year after the pandemic is hopefully over, but will keep this year's celebration quiet.

"This nine-year anniversary a little low-key, but I will buy you that siakap fish from Langkawi," he joked.

Lee's post has amassed over 150,000 likes with well wishes and laughs from friends and fans
