A content creator from Switzerland recently travelled all the way to Kuantan, Pahang, with one mission in mind: to recreate one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Jujutsu Kaisen
In a video by @velkichrigi, the content creator can be seen standing on the beach while recreating Kento Nanami's final dream sequence from the anime.
"I'm waiting here for you Nanami…" he wrote.
"If that's not dedication I don't know what is. I went to Malaysia with the sole purpose of seeing Kuantan, the place Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen chose as his final wish to be at. And tried to recreate the iconic scenes in real life at this place."
He even joked that next time he'll return in full cosplay. For fans of the series, the scene hits hard.
Just before his death, Nanami imagines leaving everything behind and retiring somewhere peaceful. His dream destination? Kuantan, Malaysia.
In the anime, he talks about building a house by the beach, reading all the books he never had time to finish, and finally slowing down after years of endless work.
The moment quickly became one of the most emotional scenes in the series and unexpectedly put Kuantan on the radar of anime fans around the world.
The Swiss fan didn't just visit the city either
He recreated the beach sequence shot-for-shot, bringing Nanami's dream to life in the very place the character wished he could have spent his final days.
This isn't the first time Jujutsu Kaisen has caused a wave of interest in Kuantan
Back in 2023, Nanami's mention of the Pahang capital sent Malaysian fans into a frenzy.
Some even created a memorial shrine for the fictional character on Google Maps, while cosplayers travelled to Kuantan to pay tribute to him in real life.
The phenomenon became so big that the Pahang government expressed interest in working with the creators of Jujutsu Kaisen to help promote tourism in Kuantan.
State officials even discussed the possibility of creating a memorial attraction inspired by Nanami after the anime sparked global attention for the city.
