Take An Embroidery Workshop With Your BFF At This Place In Subang
A fun activity for the weekend!
It's never too late to pick up a new hobby or skill. It can be really fun (maybe even fulfilling) to try something new every now and then.
There's an embroidery workshop in Subang Jaya that lets you try your hand at creative stitching.
If you've never sewn or you just want to enhance your skills, this could be a great way to get started or to just do something fun with your friends.
Benangbynini is run by Nini Faizal, a 25-year-old embroidery artist who started these workshops in November 2020
Having previously studied law, Nini wanted to explore her creative side and passion for embroidery, which has since led her down a different path.
"Art has been a great outlet for the stress that came along with my daily life. After I graduated, I started applying for jobs I wasn't passionate about, for salaries far lesser than what I wanted. I couldn't land any permanent job due to the MCO," she shared with SAYS.
With support from her family and friends, she decided to become a full-time embroidery artist.
During her workshop, you will be provided with all the necessary tools, including an embroidery hoop, needles, and threads
Each design is set every month, however, you can customise it by adding your name or changing up the thread colours.
For those who prefer to do it in the comfort of their homes, Nini runs virtual workshops as well
A DIY kit with all the necessary tools will be delivered to your doorstep.
This includes:
1. Embroidery kit with complete materials (custom pattern)
2. Recording of the workshop (and Zoom link a day before the workshop)
3. PDF guidebook (how to separate threads, back hoops, etc)
Benangbynini also sells DIY embroidery kits on their website with prices that start from RM65.
At the moment, her physical workshop slot for September is fully booked, but you can sign up virtually, or for her next workshop in October
Her virtual workshop costs RM118 (West Malaysia) and RM126 (East Malaysia).
Here are more details on her upcoming workshop:
Date: 24 September 2022 (Saturday)
