This Hidden Restaurant In PJ Is A Treasure Trove Of Nostalgic Items From The Past
Retro vibes.
Tucked behind an unsuspecting, closed metal door at a shophouse in Taman Paramount is a small eatery that'll transport you back in time
Earlier this year, this old shophouse in PJ was converted into a nostalgic haven with items from decades ago: a rotary dial phone, a retro television set, a film camera, VHS tapes, and chairs you'll probably recognise from your grandparents' home.
It's like entering a time machine that takes you back to the '90s, maybe even the '70s and '80s. And who doesn't love a good reminiscence?
CUEat27 was founded by a group of DJs who can no longer grace the decks due to the pandemic. Combining their passion for home cooking and arts, they found a different approach to bring people happiness — by opening this small eatery.
In agreement with the landlord to keep the unit's structural integrity and layout, the restaurant's owners thrifted furniture to create this vintage space while retaining the classic PJ shophouse's old-school elements.
Serving mainly pork-infused fusion dishes, the restaurant's chefs are constantly experimenting and creating new dishes
For example, they shared with SAYS that they are working on a bakso marinara pasta and have yet to finalise the menu.
If you love a drink every now and then, they also have a variety of craft beers available.
CUEat27 views themselves as just a bunch of folks who are constantly trying, and facing daily challenges to put pasta on the table. As they grow, they will open up new sections and add more of their personal collections. But for now, due to the small space, they only take in customers with reservations.
You can make a reservation through WhatsApp or by dropping them a message through their social media.
