1. Mee Tarik Restoran

Popular for its freshly made sliced beef mee tarik, this joint in Chinatown attracts a crowd almost every night. They serve a variety of Chinese-Muslim dishes, including steamed and fried dumplings that come with either beef, lamb, chicken, or chives with eggs — perfect for when those hunger pangs hit in the middle of the night.

2. Restaurant Yan Yan A One

If you're craving for dim sum instead, check out this lively spot in Old Klang Road that has been around for a couple of decades. Each plate costs roughly RM3.20.

In the evening, they serve other Chinese dishes. The restaurant has an air-conditioned area, as well as outdoor seating. It used to be a 24-hour restaurant, but since the pandemic, the closing time has been tweaked to roughly 2am.

3. Nasi Lemak Wanjo Kg Baru

This bright and airy spacious spot in Kampung Baru has long been known for serving nasi lemak that some customers claim is one of the best in Kuala Lumpur. Prices range between RM4 and RM9. There are plenty of side dishes to pair with your nasi lemak, such as sotong, paru, kerang, and bergedil.

4. William's Corner

William's Corner is a popular spot for night owls, especially if you live or have lived in the PJ area. The portions are huge and can be shared among two to three people. They serve a mix of Western and Asian dishes, including nasi goreng petai, nasi goreng ketam, carbonara with meatballs, lamb chop, and mee raja.

If you don't know what to order, just ask some of their helpful staff and they will gladly list out some dishes.

5. Fatty Bak Kut Teh & Fish Head

Any time is a good time for bak kut teh, especially after a long night of work or drinking. Fatty Bak Kut Teh & Fish Head opens in the evening right up till midnight serving hearty bowls of bak kut teh, as well as their signature steamed fish head.

6. Burger Baek Sunway

Burger Baek is a roadside stall that offers different 'premium-tasting' burger meats, such as shrimp, mutton, deer, rabbit, beef, and chicken.

Many customers highly recommend the Crispy Chicken Burger Baek that's said to be crunchy and coated in a delicious cheese sauce. Some even claim that it's a good alternative to popular fast food versions. So if you're in the mood for something greasy and flavourful, check out this place!

7. Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee

Upholding the culture of late night roadside stalls and turning it into a restaurant, this famous spot in Damansara Uptown is where people come to get their hokkien mee and fried chicken fix.

They also serve other Chinese dishes such as kam heong lala, Chinese wine lala, and fried rice, among others.

8. Nasi Kandar Pelita

Located in Bukit Bintang, right next to Sungai Wang Plaza, is this little restaurant that serves some of the best Middle Eastern food in town. They have kebab/shawarma, mandi rice with perfectly tender, flavourful, marinated meats, and other yummy late night snacks to munch on.

10. Nasi Lemak Panas Restoran Warisan Sambal Opah

This eatery in USJ 9 opens till late for night owls who are in the mood to lepak. They serve warm packets of nasi lemak that are priced at just RM1 each. You might not be able to stop at just one! There's also fried chicken, rendang, and other lauk to add on.

11. Restoran Nathan's Corner

Frequented by many for their cheese naan that comes specially sprinkled with cheese on top, Nathan's Corner is a popular joint for people looking to yum cha. Among the usual Indian food, they serve tandoori, nasi lemak, and all types of roti.

12. Brader John

Known as one of the best burger food trucks in Petaling Jaya, Brader John sees a crowd almost every night. They are located in front of RHB bank in Damansara Uptown, with several tables set up for people to eat or wait for their meals. 

The burgers are sloppy, saucy, and totally yummy. But it's best to head there early or call them to place an order, as the waiting time can be up to an hour at times.

13. Murni Discovery SS2

Live in KL long enough and you'll know that Murni Discovery is a go-to spot for many hungry owls. The SS2 branch, in particular, opens till really late. Their signature dishes are the mee raja (which comes in a big portion), mozzarella naan, and unique drink concoctions.

14. Syed Bistro
