Hawker Chan, home of the famous Michelin-starred chicken rice from Singapore, has just opened an outlet in Kuala Lumpur

On Wednesday, 18 December, their new restaurant at Petaling Street officially opened its doors to the public.

This is their second outlet in Malaysia. Earlier this year in February, they opened a franchise restaurant  in Ipoh.

The mastermind behind the dish is Malaysian-born Chan Hon Meng.

Known for serving the cheapest Michelin-starred meal in the world, Hawker Chan's signature chicken rice only costs RM8.80.

In 2016, his stall in Singapore made history by being one of the first two hawker stalls ever to be awarded a Michelin star.

Served with some garlic fragrant rice and beans, his Hong Kong soy sauce chicken is different from the regular roasted and steamed chicken as it comes with a soy sauce-glazed skin.

Aside from the chicken, the restaurant also serves char siu (BBQ pork), siu yuk (roasted pork), and pork ribs

You can choose to enjoy these dishes with a side of rice, noodles, or hor fun.

To complete your meal, you can also order sides such as vegetables, bean sprouts, or Thai style tofu. The portions are quite big, so we would recommend that you share it with a few other people.
