Air Selangor: Water Disruption In Klang Valley To Last At Least Another 4 Days
Users will only start getting access to clean water at least four days after water treatment plants resume operations.
Air Selangor chief executive officer (CEO) Suhaimi Kamaralzaman just announced that the sudden water disruption in Klang Valley may last another four days
He mentioned this during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today, 4 September.
He noted that the current water contamination levels are unsafe for treatment or consumption
"Currently the water contamination levels are at 1TON so it's still not safe for consumption. It needs to be at 0TON and must produce the same results three times during testing before we are able to use the water," Suhaimi said.
"Once we resume operations, users will start getting access to water but only after at least four days."
Suhaimi also assured that a team of experts have been sent out to investigate the contamination of the Selangor River which caused the closure of four water plants
In a previous statement by Air Selangor, the company noted that the closure of four water treatment plants is the reason behind the unplanned water disruption.
Today, they announced that the water treatment plants namely Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant and Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plants Phase 1, 2, and 3, are still unable to resume operations.
Meanwhile, state environment, green technology, science, technology and innovation, and consumer affairs committee chairman Hee Loy Sian told Selangorkini that a machine factory in Rawang is currently under investigation for allegedly polluting the Selangor River with oil waste.
