Boy Experiences Excessive Bleeding After Paying RM50 To Participate In Mass Circumcision
The 11-year-old required surgery at a hospital to stop the bleeding.
A boy allegedly experienced severe bleeding after participating in a mass circumcision programme on Saturday, 25 January
According to Harian Metro, Ahmad Mudzakkir Ahmad Mukri, 37, said his 11-year-old son required surgery at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) after undergoing the procedure conducted at a mosque in Alor Setar, Kedah.
The man said the circumcision cost RM50 and was performed by a doctor. It is understood that the boy was among the last two participants in the programme, which had a total of 50 attendees.
"Next of kin were not allowed to be present during the procedure. Afterwards, the doctor instructed us to take my son home.
"However, shortly after that, the wound on my son's private parts started bleeding. I immediately informed the doctor involved and was told to bring my son to the clinic," the father said.
Ahmad Mudzakkir said the bleeding persisted despite the doctor at the clinic opening and sewing the stitches back together
"The doctor then advised me to take my son to another clinic in Jitra," he said.
The bleeding did not stop at the second clinic and the boy was ultimately rushed to the emergency ward at HSB.
The boy's condition has since stabilised after the surgery.
"I am deeply upset because my son had to endure immense pain as the stitches were reopened multiple times. His cries still echo in my mind when the stitches were removed and reapplied," Bernama quoted Ahmad Mudzakkir as saying.
The father has since lodged a police report at the Kota Setar district police headquarters. He expressed his intent to pursue legal action against those responsible, as he wishes to prevent similar incidents from recurring in the future.
