The video, released on UK-based Channel 4 News' Facebook Page, featured Jonathan Miller, the Asian correspondent for Channel 4 News who tried to ask Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak questions on allegations of corruption although the PM walked past Miller without acknowledging the journalist.

However, Miller and his cameraman were seen being asked by security personnel to leave the Wisma Bapa Malaysia in Kuching, Sarawak where the Prime Minister had just arrived to join other leaders for the swearing-in ceremony of Adenan Satem as chief minister, following Barisan Nasional's landslide win in the Sarawak state election on 7 May.

The video that was uploaded just three days ago, on 13 May, has gained more than 1.4 million views and almost 25,000 shares on Facebook so far.

In the video, an unidentified individual had blocked him from covering the press conference at the venue, saying, "This isn’t your country.”

Miller had then asked the policemen at the scene if he could enter, but was denied from doing so.

Quizzed by local journalists, Miller said he had asked Najib about corruption.

"The question I asked your prime minister tonight was that - he was accused of personal involvement in a huge corruption scandal."

"And he has given some answers, but I know for many Malaysian friends and journalists, the answers he has given are inadequate," he said.

Although local media had reported the incident a week earlier, it only gained widespread attention after Channel 4 News posted the video on its Facebook page

More than 1,000 comments were found in the comment section on video, many of which condemned the Malaysian government's reaction to Miller's question.
