A former cleaner, Mohd Nazri Abd Wazir, 61, is planning to perform Umrah and Hajj after winning RM1 milion

According to Bernama, Mohd Nazri was initially sceptical when he received a call on Monday, 5 February, informing him that he had won the grand prize for the 96th Bank Simpanan Nasional Premium Savings Certificate (BSN SSP) Lucky Draw.

"I received a call from BSN telling me I had won RM1 million in a lucky draw. Luckily, I didn’t faint,” he joked.

The 61-year-old then visited a BSN branch in Parit, Perak, to confirm his win, and they verified that it was indeed true.

"At first, I was just trying my luck because the lucky draw I won was for a certificate I bought last year," he said after receiving a mock cheque at an event attended by BSN Perak Director Mazlan Mat Jalil on Saturday, 24 February.
