Hannah Yeoh Cheers On Her Former Ministry's Civil Servants As Agong Dissolves The Cabinet
"Carry on the work guys!"
Former Women, Family, and Community Development Deputy Minister Hannah Yeoh encouraged civil servants to continue carrying the amanah of the people as she stepped down from her position
"Tonight I cease to be the deputy minister. The burden I carry especially for children I can lay it down tonight as it is no longer mine to carry. This season comes to an end. For now," she said in a Facebook post following the dissolution of the Cabinet yesterday, 24 February.
However, she assured that she was leaving the ministry in good hands because of the "lovely civil servants" in it.
"I know now that Putrajaya has many excellent dedicated civil servants. Carry on the work guys!" she added, while sharing pictures of her ministry at their retreat.
"Relieved because we have just completed our retreat with new direction, roadmap, and area of focus," she wrote, adding, "You have the vision, now run with it."
Yesterday, 24 February, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented to dissolving the current Cabinet effective immediately
"The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has consented to the cancellation of all appointments of ministerial positions on the advice of the Prime Minister on 24 February," said Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali, as quoted by New Straits Times.
"In this respect, all duties of the administration officers and staff (including Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and political secretaries) will also be dissolved at the same date."
He added that it was in accordance with Article 43(5) of the Federal Constitution in line with the resignation of the Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Yeoh's post has garnered almost 1,000 comments of praise and support from netizens, with many hoping that she will be reinstated
"Congratulations, YB Hannah. You are one of the best Deputy Ministers. You proved to be an excellent performing minister. The voters will vote you again in GE15," said a Facebook user.
