KK Mart Fires Employee For Pouring Hot Water On Stray Dog In Perak
The company said it would cover the cost of the dog's treatment.
KK Super Mart has sacked an employee who poured hot water on a stray dog at one of its outlets in Perak
This comes after a viral CCTV video showed the employee filling up a cup of hot water from the coffee section of the convenience store and pouring it on the dog that was at the store's entrance.
According to animal activist Siti Fauziah Jabbar, the incident occurred at a KK Super Mart outlet on Jalan Besar Menglembu last Friday, 7 March. The individual responsible for the act is reportedly the branch's store manager.
After being notified about the incident, she drove from Sungai Buloh to Ipoh to file a police report against the employee.

In response to the incident, KK Super Mart issued a statement condemning any form of animal cruelty
The company requested the employee to travel to its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur to facilitate an internal investigation. Following a thorough review, the employee was sacked.
KK Super Mart also contacted the owner of a pet care facility and offered to cover the full cost of the dog's medical treatment.
