Police Say They Have Shot Dead The Local Suspect Behind Setia City Mall Shooting

A local man in his 30s, the suspect behind the recent shooting at Setia City Mall was shot dead a during a police raid early this morning, 18 February, at a hotel in Pulau Ketam

According to Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, a shootout broke out between the suspect and police officers from the Criminal Investigation Departments of Selangor and Bukit Aman.

"The police team managed to shoot [the] male citizen, aged around his mid-30s," he said.

"We also found two loaded guns on the suspect," Hussein added.

The man had nine criminal records prior to the mall shooting

He had a criminal record for seven robberies and a drug-related crime.

The suspect's body will be brought to the jetty at Port Klang after the investigation.
