Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah just announced that the Minister of Health (MOH) has advised all industries including hairdressers to delay operations within the next week

Dr Noor Hisham said this during his daily press briefing regarding the COVID-19 numbers.

According to him, industry operators can initiate planning, "but carrying it out should be delayed".

The Health D-G said that whatever was done in the first and second phase of the MCO such as controlled movement, border control, etc. should be continued in the third phase.

The MOH advise is in direct contrast to the media statement issued by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) yesterday

On Friday, following the announcement of an extension of the MCO, MITI said that additional sectors including barbers and optical shops will be allowed to operate starting next week.
