PM Muhyiddin To Be In Charge Of All Ministries Until A New Cabinet Is Formed
The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) has said that the newly-appointed eighth Prime Minister will be in charge of all ministries and government departments until the Cabinet ministers are appointed
Uploaded on the AGC's website, the notice, which was signed on Tuesday by the Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali, first stated that "the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) has pursuant to Article 43 of the Federal Constitution appointed" Muhyiddin as the Prime Minister of the Federal Government.
"This Order is deemed to have come into operation on 1 March 2020," read the notice.
"It is notified that the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin shall be charged with the responsibility in respect of all departments of the Federal Government and the subjects for which the departments are responsible until the appointment of other Ministers in the Cabinet."
Since being sworn in, Prime Minister Muhyiddin has been busy getting briefed on various issues, from education to financial situations
On the evening of Tuesday, 3 March, he met with chief secretaries from the Education and Foreign Ministries, where he was briefed about developments and suggestions to upgrade the education sector and the current diplomatic relationships and pending international conferences.
Earlier today, 5 March, the Prime Minister met with secretary general of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), where he was briefed on the international trade and foreign investment sectors.
