Rawang Man Arrested For Beating His Wife During A Mother's Day Celebration

A woman in Rawang was recently assaulted by her husband in the middle of a Mother's Day celebration with her friends and their children

According to Harian Metro, the incident took place on Sunday, 10 May, at Bandar Country Homes, Rawang.

The man, reportedly drunk, pulled his wife aside while she was talking to a few other women.

He suddenly slapped, punched, and choked her in front of their guests, causing the children around them to scream in fear.

The victim's friends tried to calm him down but they were chased out of the house instead.

The suspect also broke a bathroom door and threatened to stab his wife with a pair of scissors

China Press reported that the woman pulled out her mobile phone to record her husband but it made him even angrier.

He attacked her once more before taking the phone away and breaking it. She was left with injuries to her mouth and bruises all over her body.

The woman was rescued when one of her family members rushed to their home.

Worried for her safety, she immediately filed a police report at the Rawang Police Station.

Meanwhile, Gombak police chief ACP Arifai Tarawe confirmed the incident and said that the case is under investigation

He told Harian Metro, "The suspect has been nabbed and remanded for three days to assist with investigations under Section 323 as well as Section 505 of the Penal Code."
