Robber Fires Shot At Subang Bank Before Escaping With RM20,000

A man managed to flee with RM20,000 after robbing a bank at SS15, Subang Jaya yesterday, 3 September
New Straits Times reported that at 4.23pm, the suspect fired a single shot towards the ceiling before rushing to the counter.
Subang Jaya police chief ACP Risikin Satiman said that according to investigations, the man had pushed the security guard to the ground before firing the shot.
The suspect, believed to have acted alone, then rushed over to the counter and ordered the bank employees to hand him cash
He fled the scene with RM20,000.
"Upon combing the scene for evidence, police found a bullet casing which belonged to an automatic pistol inside the premise. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident," Riskin said, according to New Straits Times.
Authorities are in the midst of investigations.
Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to step forward.
The case is being investigated under Section 3 of the Firearms (Heavier Penalties) Act 1971 (Firing of firearms while committing robbery) and Section 392/397 of the Penal Code (Robbery with weapons) Act.
