Muhammad Luth Syauqi Abdul Rahman was two years old.
Muhammad Luth Syauqi Abdul Rahman, one of the two boys who ate poisoned snacks found at an orchard in Labu Besar, Kedah, died while receiving treatment at Penang General Hospital today, 12 July
Muhammad Luth's death comes two days after his brother, Muhammad Akil, also succumbed to the poisoning.
Their mother, Nurain Hasnorizal, confirmed the 2-year-old's death to reporters from Harian Metro when they met her at the hospital.
"Luth died at about 1.24pm [today]. His suffering has ended.
"His remains will be laid to rest in Kampung Banggol Berangan, near his brother's grave," said the 25-year-old mother.
Muhammad Luth and Muhammad Akil were hospitalised after consuming snacks laced with rat poison, which they had found near an orchard in Kampung Padang Ubi on Monday, 8 July
The owner of the orchard, identified as Am, claimed it was "impossible" for the victims to have reached the poisoned snacks on their own as they were tied 1.2m above ground.
Meanwhile, the victims' grandmother confirmed that she had seen Muhammad Luth and Muhammad Akil looking happy when they brought the snacks home on the day of the incident.
