Tesco Malaysia is looking to recruit over 600 new staff for the next eight weeks
This follows the unprecedented demand brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the upcoming Ramadan and Hari Raya celebration.
"We are working around the clock to help ensure families have access to the shopping items they need," says Alvin Low, Tesco Head of People.
Since the Movement Control Order (MCO), Tesco has noted a sharp increase in demand for food and household products.
Job vacancies are open across all 60 stores nationwide, including Tesco Online, the grocery home shopping delivery service
Low also noted that with new colleagues coming on board, Tesco’s existing workers will be able to get enough rest and achieve better work-life balance during these challenging times.
Malaysians aged 18 to 60, with a minimum of Sijil Pendidikan Malaysia (SPM) are encouraged to apply
As an equal opportunity employer, Tesco also welcomes those who are disabled to join the team.
Vacancies include Store Associates, Cashiers, Tesco Online Pickers, and Customer Delivery Assistants. No previous experience is needed for full time, temporary, and part time roles.
To keep staff safe, Tesco has implemented various preventative measures such as daily temperature checks, face masks, hand sanitisers, and insurance coverage
